Yes, you read that correctly.
The supermarket chain has partnered with the designer brand for an exclusive Roksanda x George at Asda collection, and I’m here to tell you, it’s great!
I was going to save this post, but as the weather has flipped from ‘sort of late summer still’ to full-on autumn in the blink of an eye, and because a lot of these pieces are selling out already, I’ve bumped it forward…
George at Asda says:
“George joins forces with The British Fashion Council to celebrate 40 years of London Fashion Week in an exciting new collaboration between George and Roksanda. Roksanda's signature colour blocking, and sculptural shapes meet George's ethos of making fashion accessible to all in a collection launching September 2024. A donation of proceeds from George and Roksanda will go to The British Fashion Council Foundation, supporting the future of design talent and the best of British creativity.”
With prices from £14, and an inclusive size range from U.K. 8-24, they had my attention.
Roksanda Burgundy Belted Midweight Mac Coat £60
The first piece that caught my eye (typically, being somewhat obsessed by outerwear) was this gorgeous mac. What drew me immediately was the intriguing colour-clash (not something one normally sees in a high street shop) of dark burgundy rust/red with shocking pink lining. The cut also looks designer, and little details like the oversized eyelet holes for the belt really set this apart.
Next up, I clicked on the matching puffed scarf:
Roksanda Padded Colour Block Reversible Wrap Scarf £18
Again, this looks premium and I could totally see this on a catwalk or featured in the pages of a glossy magazine. Instead of squinting at the price and recoiling in horror as I quickly flick the page, though; this is £18. EIGHTEEN QUID!
Reader: I purchased the mac AND the scarf.
I have worn the coat several times. It arrived promptly, well wrapped, and though I think the colour isn’t *quite* as pigmented as it appears in the photos online, it *is* gorgeous, fits well (I got a 16, due to being large-busted) and I am thrilled with it!
I even wore it during several torrential downpours while pounding the streets of London on a press day last week. It kept me dry. I’m not saying it’s ‘waterproof’ (nothing is unless it’s got reinforced and waterproofed seams) but neither did it leave me feeling clammy, in the way many truly waterproof coats can. It’s definitely showerproof, and layerable, while still bringing joy (and not being the boring standard trench coat colours, won’t lead to a half hour discussion about ‘whose coat is this?’ at the end of an event).
Talking of layering, I’ve not yet worn the scarf, but having tried it on, can tell you that it really does add an extra layer of warmth, without being too suffocating. This makes it immensely practical to whip off before boarding the Tube, for example, when often at this time of year, one can feel uncomfortably like a boil in the bag meal, slowly stewing in your own juices. Which is not the vibe.
You could totally wear the scarf alone as a kind of contemporary take on an evening wrap, don’t you think?
I REALLY want this Roksanda Burgundy Off Shoulder Knitted Midi Dress £32
…But WOE! It’s out of stock in every size. Apparently it is possibly in some larger Asda stores (not any near me, sadly), and APPARENTLY it will be available online again ‘in 1-2 weeks’, but I never believe these things until they happen (hello Anya Hindmarch for Uniqlo collection, which crashed their website several times, and was snapped up by re-sellers who then hawked their wares on eBay for extortionate prices…)
I kind of like the look of the matching Burgundy Roksanda Popper Track Joggers £22
But these are also out of stock in every size (plus I’m not entirely convinced they’d work on me).
Roksanda Colour Block Knitted Jumper and Midi Skirt Outfit (Co Ord Top £24 / Co Ord Skirt £24
This outfit also has my interest, but guess what…? Yup. Skirt is out of bloody stock. And I’d really want both pieces.
I’m not usually in to ‘fast fashion’, but although each of these pieces are bang on trend (if such things matter to you) with their colour-blocking, I feel they also have a timeless appeal. There’s a lot to like in this capsule mix ‘n match collection, and I really hope Asda partner with Roksanda again.
In the meantime, even though I have no clue who Erica Davies is, I rather like the look of many of this collection at Asda, too. Some nice jackets / cardigans / bags and, again, a coherence in the collection not often seen at such prices (and in a supermarket). Style Stories by Erica Davies
I’ve already documented my most-used bag (from TU at Sainsbury’s) in a previous post:
Affordable Accessories - including one of my most-used bags...
I’m of the opinion that fun, summer accessories aren’t usually worth investing a lot of money in, because fun, summer weather in the U.K. might (at best) be a couple of weeks a year. The rest of the time it’s varying degrees of autumn / winter (thus where I tend to invest more in coats, boots & bags that will last the rest of time). So, for this blog, I…
so this wasn’t my first time experiencing a supermarket’s fashion range; but how about you: are you regularly stuffing your trolley with stylish outfits alongside your groceries?
Have you any supermarket fashion finds to share? Please let us know in the comments, or tell me what you think of the Roksanda collab…

P.S: My next fragrance piece is coming, but my weekend was wiped out with a stinking cold, so energy / free time ratio seriously curtailed. I can tell you that it will feature smoke and roses…
Ooh smoke and roses! Yes please!! I recently got this dress from Sainsbury's for only £15. It's so soft and cosy and love the autumnal jewel colours. https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc144340493
George always has some great clothing. My gorgeous hooded faux fur is in its 7th year & it washes! The parkas are showerproof & last forever. Puffa gilets? George. Stretch skinnies? George. Summer Ts & vests? George.
